designing from the center, where our customers belong
Centrico HCD is a tiny but mighty design firm specializing in the development of equity-based solutions in the public workforce development and social services system.
the how
Centering our clients to co-design alongside us, and orienting around a systems-approach.
Human-Centered Design (HCD) is an approach that encourages radical collaboration. This means inviting our clients and our communities to co-develop the solutions for the systems and programs that have come up short. Systems Thinking scales these solutions up to work at not just solving problems, but dissolving them.
the why
Workforce Development is dynamic.
Is there any system more complex? Workforce development operates at extreme scales: the individual worker and her journey, the system of agencies and industries, and the network of employers and their pursuit of the right team. This ecosystem calls out for a human-centered approach that expands opportunity and access, aligns resources, and strengthens communities.
the who
Erick Serrato
Centrico was founded by Erick, a seasoned workforce development professional with a background in architecture and cultural arts. Erick works with clients when not helping improve his own system as a Workforce Development Board director in Central California, or leading regional economic equity through northvalleythrive.org.It's a team effort. Erick brings together a very cool and fantastically brilliant cast of people to help agencies improve their services and systems.
the what
Currently, Erick and team are fully dedicated to supporting the National Fund for Workforce Solutions in a multi-city, multi-strategy effort. This work brings together workforce leaders from across the US to think deeply and design collaboratively.
